F.I.R. -If You Say You Love Me MV

The music video was directed by Lei Tao, a director who has gained acclaim at film festivals both domestically and internationally. Through portraying the “prenatal anxiety” of a woman in her thirties, the video shows the protagonist dancing with her inner darkness in a poignant and beautiful way, metaphorically suggesting that “love” is our ultimate salvation.

Love from a partner, love from a child, and love for oneself are all important questions that arise as we face the unknown future. Even just securing basic living necessities in this noisy world is not an easy task, so how can we raise the next generation and give them a better future? These questions slowly emerge within us as we reach a certain age。

The director uses the protagonist’s portrayal of prenatal anxiety to depict her dancing with her inner darkness, gradually accepting her internal anxiety as the waves of life ebb and flow. The repeated lyrics in the song, “If you say you love me…”, serve as a metaphor for the “love between partners,” “love from a child,” and “love for oneself,” and also symbolize facing the unknown future. Even in the midst of a mental apocalypse, we must remember to offer love to ourselves and to those we love, and in doing so, “love” will be our ultimate salvation.
